The 7th Led Zeppelin studio album called Presencewas conceived after Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant sustained serious injuries from a car accident on the Greek island of Rhodes on August 5, 1975. The accident postponed a world tour during 1975 and 1976. At this point, Led Zeppelin was arguably at the height of their popularity. Plant recalls: “After the accident I was lying there in pain and the guy next to me, this drunken soldier, started singing The Ocean from Houses of the Holy!” Both Page and Plant had planned this album's recording session as a return to hard rock, much like their debut album, except at a new level of complexity. It marked a change in the Led Zeppelin sound towards more straightforward, guitar-based jams. Whereas their previous albums contain electric hard rock anthems balanced with acoustic ballads and intricate arrangements, Presence was seen to include more simplified riffs, and it is Led Zeppelin's only studio album that does not feature an acoustic tracks or any keyboards (almost buried in the mix, a single acoustic guitar can be heard on "Candy Store Rock"). Lyrics to Nobody's Fault but Mine:
Oh, nobody's fault but mine, Nobody's fault but mine, yeah
Trying to save my soul tonight, Oh, it's nobody's fault but mine
Devil he told me to roll, The devil he told me to roll
How to roll the line tonight, Nobody's fault but mine
Somebody show me the door?
Somebody show me the ding dong ding dong
I will get down rolling tonight, Oh, it's nobody's fault but mine
Got a monkey on my back, The m-m-monkey on my back, back, back
Gonna change my ways tonight, Nobody's fault but mine...
