Robert Plant Turns Down Tour Offer!
It has been reported from an anonymous source that Robert Plant has turned down a 200 million dollar offer for a Led Zeppelin tour, saying that he wants to leave the band’s 2007 London performance as their final legacy.
The information provided also quotes Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones stating that they were “very supportive on a hotly anticipated Zeppelin reunion tour on the heels of last year’s performance”. Jimmy Page argued that they still had something to offer and that he likes the idea of another chapter in the band. He referred to it as “the grown-up tour”. However, Plant would rather focus on his recent collaboration with Alison Krauss.
As one of the many long time Zeppelin fans, hearing this is a great disappointment. There are 2 generations of fans who have not had the opportunity to see the band. It only seemed natural for a tour to follow after the stellar performance of last Decembers London show. However, based on Page and Jones’ strong interest in doing the tour, there is still an outside chance that they may be able to persuade Plant.
