Preperation Of Blue Marlin

Although the majority of people who enjoy seafood are familiar with salmon dishes, in the Caribbean the blue marlin is by far the most popular seafood dish. It can be served in many different ways and is often the true delicacy on any Caribbean menu.

The Caribbean rarely imports any form of salmon from other countries because the blue marlin has a similar taste to salmon. Often blue marlin is sold in steak form and pieces are distributed to smokehouses to become smoked marlin, which is very thin but extremely tasty. Every island in the Caribbean has its own unique way of preparing fresh marlin. In Jamaica the traditional way of preparing the Marlin steaks are to cook them with rum and spice flavoring.
